It was produced by the legendary Keith Olsen.Chart-Topping Synergy: Alongside its massive album sibling “Wind of Change,” this track became an absolute signature anthem for the band, reaching the Top 10 across numerous European charts and cracking the top spots on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.The Guest Keyboardist: The opening, haunting keyboard melody that gives the song its signature “heavenly” atmosphere was actually played by Canadian musician and songwriter Jim Vallance, who co-wrote many massive rock hits throughout the ’80s and ’90s.Artistic Coincidence: In 1994, heavy metal titans Black Sabbath released their album Cross Purposes, which coincidentally used the exact same “burning angel” artwork featured on the Scorpions’ “Send Me An Angel” single release.
