The gluttony and self induced mental illness associated with alcohol is finally over, the road blocks and harassment has subsided, the road rage has dissipated and life as we know it in Africa may resume its course of simple madness. Alas the heat slipped in undercover as summer burst forth and adventures are limited to the morning, life is once again gearing up to long trips, tins of sardines and biscuits for lunch with tepid water, empty caravan parks with the odd one or two people overcrowding privacy but usually it is acceptable.
Let summer begin, may the showers of heaven be merciful to us as we dissect the country, my the price of fuel be a constant low and may the food stalls selling braaied mielies be plentiful.
May the punctures be few and the Samaritans who help on the roadside be blessed, let the chain stay well waxed and wheel bearings whirl in pleasure.
Let life begin again 🙂
